The Block the Bombs Act H.R. 3565 is a critical step toward stopping U.S. complicity in Israel's genocide of Palestinians and saving lives.

Yet U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver is withholding support from this bill that would limit major weapons transfers to Israel as it continues escalating its genocidal violence in Gaza through the starvation and killing of Palestinians, with the Israeli military’s own data indicating that civilians account for 83% of those killed in its attacks in Gaza.

The fastest way to end these horrors and save lives is to stop arming Israel NOW.

On Sept. 1, at a rally in Kansas City, members of JVP KC approached Rep. Cleaver and urged him to co-sponsor the Block the Bombs Act - just as we and many constituents have been asking since June when Reps. Delia Ramirez, Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, Mark Pocan introduced the legislation along with 18 colleagues.

Disappointingly, Rep. Cleaver said he has not seen the bill.

The bill now has 41 co-sponsors, including Jewish Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland.
