Surrounded by equally unscrupulous oligarchs, Donald Trump has begun his latest assault on the working class and historically marginalized communities in the United States. He has already illegally issued executive orders attempting to strip people of their U.S. citizenship, ban green energy, erase trans people, removed controls on prescription drug pricing, and shut down our public health institutions during an avian flu outbreak and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He has nominated unqualified and malicious people to key cabinet positions. He has pardoned all of the January 6th insurrectionists. He has created a cryptocurrency as a conduit for bribery. He has destabilized the entire Federal Government, putting tens of millions of people's livelihoods in danger. This list will grow as the administration consolidates power and works its way through the Project 2025 handbook.

Our elected officials cannot continue business as usual. These are unprecedented times — or, more to the point, these times are preceded only by the rise to power of infamous fascist regimes. Lawmakers need to know that their primary job right now is to obstruct the Trump administration in whatever way they can and then move to remove him from office. We do not want platitudes posted on social media. We do not want bipartisanship. The Democrats cried about the dangers of fascism during Kamala Harris’ Presidential campaign. Fascist regimes can only come to power with the cooperation and capitulation of liberals, and now that fascism is here, they must do everything in their power to arrest its advance.

Demand that your Congresspeople:

• Refuse to confirm, or even filibuster, any of Trump’s cabinet nominees or judges

• Use every parliamentary procedure available to obstruct the administration

• Begin impeachment proceedings

• Publicly and loudly challenge all of his illegal and dangerous executive orders and actions in the media
• Drown the administration in Congressional subpoenas and investigations

• Break their ties with the tech billionaires collaborating with Trump

We will all be doing our part to fight the advance of fascism and our elected leaders must do theirs.
