Tell Your Legislator That Florida Kids Need SUN Bucks/Summer EBT!

This graphic has text that reads: "Florida kids need SUN Bucks (formerly known as Summer EBT)!" and there are two photos-- one of a woman and girl cooking food, and another of a man and a boy in a grocery store

Florida should say "yes" to feeding over 2.1 million kids. If you agree, send a letter to your state legislators --->

SUN Bucks, formerly known as Summer EBT, is a food assistance program for children in families that are struggling to make ends meet. The program gives each eligible child $120 in grocery assistance when school is out in the summer ($40 per/month). The program works hand in hand with other food assistance programs like SNAP.

More than 2.1 million Florida children would get SUN Bucks food assistance. But first, our state leaders have to take action.

In 2024, 36 states participated in SUN Bucks, including Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Florida did not participate.

We think that children's health and well-being should be front and center. That means ensuring families in this state don’t have to make impossible decisions, like choosing between buying groceries or paying rent.

As for 2025 SUN Bucks? Florida has not told the USDA if it would be administering a program next summer. Send a letter to tell your state legislators what SUN Bucks would mean for you and your family.
