Recent polling shows that most Pennsylvanians have changed their minds about the death penalty. When given a choice, only 29% of people preferred the death penalty, while 58% preferred other types of sentences.

As long as we have the death penalty, we run the risk of executing someone who didn't do it. In Pennsylvania, over a dozen people on death row have already been found innocent and set free. We cannot afford to make a mistake that can never be fixed.

We can keep our communities safe and hold lawbreakers responsible without using the death penalty. In fact, Pennsylvania has been doing this since the last execution back in 1999. Our state has moved on from the death penalty.
