Tell Your Legislators to Fund Affordable Homes!

Budget resolutions currently under consideration in both the New Jersey Assembly and Senate would significantly expand investment in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) and the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) Program. As lawmakers negotiate the FY2027 State Budget, it is critical that we remind them that every New Jerseyan deserves access to an affordable home, and that begins with sustained investments in the development, preservation, and revitalization of communities across our state.

Join us in urging legislators to:

  • Support Assembly Budget Resolution #16 (Danielsen) and Senate Budget Resolution #656 (Timberlake) to invest an additional $140 million in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund in FY2027.
  • Support Assembly Budget Resolution #752 (Reynolds-Jackson/Legislative Black Caucus) and Senate Budget Resolution #114 (Singleton) to increase the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program cap by $50 million, raising it from the current $15 million cap.
Last year’s diversion of Affordable Housing Trust Fund resources in the FY2026 budget stalled housing projects, disrupted the development pipeline, and weakened our ability to address New Jersey’s growing housing crisis. With Fourth Round affordable housing obligations now underway and a severe shortage of homes affordable to low- and moderate-income households, New Jersey cannot afford another setback.

Your support will help send a strong, unified message that affordable housing and community revitalization must remain top priorities in this year’s budget. Together, we can ensure New Jersey moves forward with bold investments that expand housing opportunities, strengthen neighborhoods, and create a more affordable future for all.
