Without changes to the Massport Charter we can't be certain they will ever limit private jet expansion at Hanscom or anywhere! The 2024 Senate Omnibus Climate Bill contains sections 82 and 83 which will bring the Massport charter into alignment with state climate goals and policies and require Massport activities to reflect these priorities. Without these provisions, Massport will continue to operate on the outdated and dangerous belief that aviation can grow endlessly at all costs.

Now we need to get the House on board! Please contact your state rep and tell them that Massachusetts needs the protections included in sections 82 and 83 of the Senate Climate bill. Without them, private jet traffic will expand, and all of the progress the state has made on carbon reduction by installing solar panels over the past decade could be lost!
