Tell your representitives in Congress to support Medicare For All!
Nearly 28 million Americans lack health insurance — including nearly 180,000 in Connecticut. What's more, millions of others are under-insured, a record high number of Americans reported foregoing medical care in 2022 due to concerns about cost, and a recent survey found that 23% of Americans owe tens of billions of dollars in collective medical debt.
All of these problems and more could be addressed by abolishing our predatory for-profit health insurance system in favor of a universal, publish single-payer system.
On May 17, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), and Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) today came together with 14 of their colleagues in the Senate and more than 110 in the House of Representatives to reintroduce the Medicare for All Act, historic legislation that would guarantee health care as a fundamental human right to all people in the U.S. regardless of income or background.
Here in Connecticut, Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Jahana Hayes are the only members of Congress who so far support Medicare For All. Tell them and the other members of our delegation that you support Medicare For All — you support health justice — and they should too!
