In 2025 Congress passed “the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which cut more than one trillion dollars in funding for Medicaid and SNAP. As a result 33,000 Rhode Islanders will lose Medicaid coverage and more than 20,000 will lose coverage through HealthSourceRI, the state’s ACA marketplace.

These cuts will cause health insurance costs to go up for all of us, lead 53,000+ Rhode Islanders to lose access to health care, and overwhelm hospital emergency rooms and free clinics.

The time is now: ask your state legislators to protect affordable health insurance and healthcare access and pass The Rhode Island Individual Market Affordability Act of 2026 (Rep. Speakman/Sen. Lauria) and The Rhode Island Protect Our Healthcare Act of 2026 (Rep. Donovan/Sen. DiPalma).
