Temple: Recognize the RA Union!

Temple Recognize RA Union!

78% of Temple University’s 132 Resident Assistants, Peer Mentors, and Residence Hall Association Executive Board Members have signed a petition to unionize, thus forming the Temple Union of RAs (TURA). TURA members submitted a letter to President Richard Englert on September 30th to announce their formation of a union with OPEIU Local 153 and to ask Temple for voluntary recognition.

By unionizing, TURA wants to promote and ensure transparency, respect, justice, and equity while also increasing staff well-being and retention of the student workers on the frontline of the Temple community.

We know that RAs, PMs, and RHAs play a critical role in the well-being of everyone who lives at Temple. They are our first-responders, our community builders, and a key part of our support system in our growth at Temple.

Send a letter to Temple administrators in support of TURA and to demand that they recognize the Temple Union of Resident Assistants without delay.
