Over the last few weeks, The Sarnia Journal has been facing challenges because of "Honest Reporting Canada" (HRC), the self-proclaimed, “Israeli digital army” and far-right charity subsidized by Canadian tax dollars. HRC promotes anti-Palestinian racism, spreads misinformation, and leads campaigns to harass journalists and media outlets in Canada; and now they have been going after The Sarnia Journal. HRC is arguing that published Letters to the Editor are anti-Semitic hate messages and is demanding The Journal take them down.

To date, Israel has murdered more than 270 journalists in the ongoing genocide. These are war crimes. The media has played a significant role in aiding Israel’s crimes. Not only do they manufacture “consent for the killing of Palestinian journalists," they aid and abet the Israeli apartheid state in its genocide of Palestinians across all of occupied Palestine.
