This letter is to thank The Fifth Estate for their recent investigation exposing how Canadian-registered charities are funneling tax-deductible donations to Israeli settlements built on occupied Palestinian land.
For years, Palestinian voices and Human Rights facts have been buried under narratives that dehumanize our people and sanitize war crimes. CBC’s reporting on this issue has often fallen short, treating Israeli state violence as “conflict” and erasing the daily reality of occupation and displacement.
This investigation finally changes that! It sheds light on how Canadian dollars, under the guise of charity, are funding the illegal seizure of Palestinian land, a violation of international law and a moral stain on Canada’s public record.
This is a step in the right direction for CBC, but we need to demand better reporting from CBC going forward. Send a letter now!
