Thank you for supporting Syringe Services Programs!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

On Wednesday, February 14th, we marked history! For the first time syringe services program legislation (HB 1245) was voted out of the House Judiciary Committee. The bipartisan bill is
making its way to the House Floor for a full vote. This is an exciting time and we must keep the
momentum going!
Please take a moment to thank Representative Jim Struzzi(R), Briggs(D), Kinkhead(D),
Hohenstien(D), Hanbridge(D), Warren(D), Williams(D), Shusterman(D), Kenyatta(D),
Howard(D), Rabb(D), Mayes(D), Donahue(D), Pielli (D), and Rigby(R) for rising to speak on this
issue and voting yes to this life-saving legislation.
Representative Struzzi, has fought hard to move this legislation forward. Last year he was the prime sponsor of the Fentanyl Testing Strip/Drug Checking Bill which passed the House and Senate floors unanimously and signed into law. Pennsylvania has the 4th highest rate of overdose deaths in the nation. Every two hours a family is devastated due to the loss of a loved one who died due to preventable death. Thirty years of research shows that individuals who participate in SSPs are five times more likely to enter drug treatment than those who do not participate in the programs. We must keep adding evidence-based tools backed by research and science to the toolbox!
We could not do this work without you,
