In the 2022 election and during the 2023 legislative session, voters were loud and clear that they wanted to dedicate more state funding toward early childhood care and education programs.

Thanks to this support of people across the state, our legislators responded and passed many bills to help the children of New Mexico, including:

• Increased a state Child Tax Credit that will provide up to $600 per child and benefit 480,000 New Mexico kids;
• Set aside more funding for child care and pre-kindergarten; and
• Protected the Early Childhood Trust Fund.
