The Marina Safeway Proposal is Cool

The planned 25-story housing development on the site of the Marina District Safeway would add 790 homes to the area

The Safeway redevelopment proposed for the Marina will provide desperately needed housing. In order to meet our RHNA requirements, we need to break ground on a project this size every two weeks (or equivalent)!

This project will bring mixed-income housing to a part of the city which has not done its fair share to house new residents. This is a very high resource part of the city, so this development supports the city's fair housing requirements per both state and local policy.

It is true that there will be inconvenience to neighbors who rely on this grocery store and pharmacy during construction. However, the current building is not functioning well for this purpose: expanding the grocery store by 50% via this project will better fit the needs of the neighborhood.

This project is really cool and the renderings look pretty!
