Time to Pass the Clean Slate Bills!

Two important bills that would modernize Massachusetts’ criminal record (CORI) sealing system are currently in the hands of the Senate Ways & Means Committee. They control the timeline—and if they don’t act, the bills could stall.

These bills would:

  • Automate the CORI-sealing system to seal eligible records after the required waiting periods—no more red tape.
  • Seal cases that end in dismissals or not-guilty findings.
  • Improve access to jobs, housing, and education.
  • Align Massachusetts with 12 other states that have passed similar reforms

Let the Chair of the Senate Ways & Means Committee know it's time to bring these bills to a vote!
