We have received word from the Natural Resources Defense Council that action is imminent on the Transportation Climate Initiative Memorandum of Understanding. Our Governor is expected to sign, or refuse to sign, by this Friday. As you’ll recall, the TCI is a multi-state initiative whereby the states in our region agree to put a cap on transportation fuels, auction credits which give companies the right to sell these fuels, and then return to each state the proceeds of the auctions in that state to be used on green transportation initiatives, with at least 35% going to social justice communities. Here is a proposed email that we urge you to send to the Governor ASAP, and of course, you can modify it as you see fit, or send just a small portion of the letter.
