UC Stand Up, Demand No Concessions

Yesterday, Judge Allison Burroughs ruled that the federal administration’s freezing of $2.2 billion dollars at Harvard University was unconstitutional. The court decisions shows a way the UC can fight back against unjust grant suspensions and terminations at our university.
We cannot afford hesitation. The Trump administration demands go far beyond any claims of antisemitism on campus, and include major changes into how our university is run, who gets to study and work here, and how Californians receive healthcare. Our employment conditions, healthcare access, the diversity of our community members, student speech, and academic freedom at the UC are under attack.
What we need now is collective action. Contact your Californian elected officials, the governor’s office, UCOP, and the Regents to ask them to stand up for the UC—to seek legal recourse, provide interim funding sources, and refuse any settlement.
