Urge CA State Legislators to Fund Critical 211 Community Resources

211 is a free information and referral service, federally designated for use connecting people to vetted community services and trusted information. Our communities urgently need continued access to 211 to find the help they need, and the 211 service urgently needs state support to meet Californians’ ongoing, emerging, and disaster-related needs. In 2023 alone, 211s received 2.3 million calls. Yet the state of California does not provide financial support for their 211 providers to ensure a consistent statewide 211 system, and 15 rural counties representing over 722,000 Californians have limited or no 211 service.

During and after the recent Los Angeles fires, 211 has been a critical lifeline, answering over 37,000 calls for fire and safety information and disaster resources, referring more than 19,000 evacuee households to short-term housing, and signing up over 6,000 households for recovery care coordination services, along with transportation, food, and other immediate need support for evacuees.

HELP US TAKE ACTION!

Please join us in reaching out to our state Assemblymembers and Senators to support this critical resource that is FREE for California communities!
