We need you to take action NOW! The DHS funding bill has been kicked back to the House of Representatives where Representatives will vote this week (as early as Tuesday) about whether to maintain current funding levels for ICE and CBP in a two week continuing resolution. They need to hear from you! NO funding for ICE and CBP!
The good news: Last week, the Senate heard your demands and, because of the pressure you helped sustain, voted to separate the DHS funding bill from other components of the original funding package.
The bad news: The Senate passed a 2-week Continuing Resolution for the DHS funding bill. If the House passes this bill, that means ICE and CBP will continue to receive funding at existing levels for two weeks, until Congress negotiates a new bill.
The bottom line: Any continued funding is business as usual, but our pressure works so keep it up! Congress needs to keep hearing from you!
