Urge your legislators to support the Cherish Act
The MTA is supporting legislation that would end the decades-long downward spiral in state funding for public higher education by requiring a significant reinvestment in our public colleges and universities.
The Cherish Act, S.816/H.1260, filed by Senator Jo Comerford (D-Northampton), Representative Sean Garballey (D-Arlington) and Representative Pat Duffy (D-Holyoke), would establish a blueprint for a world-class system of public higher education that is urgently needed to meet widely shared goals in the Commonwealth. Please email your legislators right away and ask them to urge the Higher Education Committee to report the Cherish Act favorably out of committee. Please also consider calling your legislators to follow up on your email. You can find your legislators’ phone numbers by clicking here.
