One of the main roles of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is to work with congress to get federal funding for our marine sanctuary system. Every year, we push to get the resources needed for conservation, science, education and outreach programs, visitor’s centers – and for the necessary staffing to keep our sanctuaries thriving.

Congressional National Marine Sanctuary Caucus members are champions for our marine sanctuaries who raise awareness and strengthen Congress’ commitment to the sanctuaries themselves and their importance to local economies, public recreation and job creation.
