Urge your State Rep to support Nuclear Weapons and Climate Commission
Please write to your State Rep and urge them to support the Citizens Commission on Nuclear Weapons and Climate Change bill, H.738. This bill would set up a commission to look at how Massachusetts can make the transition away from nuclear weapons and toward more of the green technologies needed to address the climate crisis. It has been assigned to the Joint Committee on Emergency Preparedness and Management.
This is the third attempt to get this commission established, after receiving commitments of support from 23 Senators and 46 Representatives during the last session. Another 28 Representatives were "considering" support for this bill. The bill was voted favorably out of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security last year, but it never came to the floor for a vote.
This time, with your help, we can get this commission up and running. You need to enter your address, if we don’t already have it, because these letters can only be sent to your own state representative, and will be added automatically to the bottom of your letter. Just click “Start Writing” and edit the letter however you wish.
