Urge Your State Representatives to Advocate for Early Ed and Care in the State Budget!
Thanks to your continued advocacy and perseverance, state budgets over the past few years delivered historic funding levels for the Massachusetts’ early education and child care system. But much more still needs to be done to address our state’s child care challenges.
As we head into the FY27 budget process, it is critical that Massachusetts sustain and build on past investments in early education and childcare. With our families and economy under attack from the federal government, and the state’s budget facing many demands, Massachusetts must prioritize state investments that help grow our workforce, keep our economy competitive, and ensure affordability for Massachusetts families. Improving access to high-quality, affordable childcare is the best way to meet those goals.
Please join Common Start in urging our State Representatives to pass an FY27 budget that, together with critical investments already funded in a supplemental budget in March, makes significant progress towards the implementation of last year’s comprehensive child care legislation, by:
Increasing the number of families receiving child care financial assistance (this was included in the supplemental budget!),
Increasing funding for the C3 operational grant program to support child care providers,
Moving Massachusetts further toward child care reimbursement rates that cover the true cost of delivering high-quality care, and
delivering much-needed funding for Head Start providers.
Take two minutes to fill out the form to your right and send an email to your State Representative! Continued investments in early ed and care are essential to growing our state’s labor force, strengthening our economy, and making Massachusetts more affordable, competitive, and equitable.
