Urgent Action Needed — Stop Contracting Out at National Defence

Dear [Member of Parliament],

I am writing as a constituent and supporter of strong public services to express my concern about the continued contracting out of civilian work at the Department of National Defence.

Reports show that contracting out:

  • costs more than in-house delivery;

  • reduces accountability and transparency;

  • undermines service quality and readiness;

  • creates unsafe working conditions;

  • weakens local economies.

These services are essential to supporting CAF operations and ensuring safe, well-maintained bases and infrastructure. Public service workers are ready and able to perform this work more effectively and at a lower cost.

I urge you to call on the federal government to end contracting out at National Defence, reinvest in public service jobs, and rebuild internal capacity.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
