URGENT: Ask Your Senator to Support Housing Justice Legislation!

A Housing Justice bill (HB23-1171) is currently in Senate committee, having passed in the Transportation, Housing and Local Government House Committees and subsequently the House floor with overwhelming majorities!

HB23-1171 - Just Cause Requirement for Eviction of Residential Tenant prohibits a landlord from evicting a residential tenant unless the landlord has just cause for eviction. We need to make sure residents are not relegated into vicious cycles of debt and poverty as a direct consequence of an unjust eviction. The bill passed deliberations in the Transportation, Housing and Local Government Committee, passed the House and is now up in the Senate for a vote as well!

This bill is very crucial to advance our socialist vision of Housing for All, as we strive to ensure our friends and neighbors can afford to stay in their homes and shift the balance of power away from greedy landlords that unjustly evict their tenants to maximize their profits! However, this bill faces stern opposition and scrutiny in the Senate, where there are deliberations on watering down the bills and talk among popular Democratic and Republican Senators to kill it altogether. WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN!
