We’ve heard for months that California Forever has spent the last year begging the Governor and California state legislators for a special deal that would allow them total control to create a major industrial development in the tiny town of Collinsville, which sits at the gateway of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, the hub of California’s water supply.

The proposed legislation allowing this deal has now been released with just 10 days left in the legislative session. This last-minute approach avoids the normal legislative review process and severely limits opportunities for any analysis of the proposal. This is not surprising, as California Forever has consistently tried to cut out public input at every turn.

With rumors swirling about legislation to solidify backroom deals with California Forever and other billionaire-backed businesses, Solano Together mobilized, and thousands signed opposition letters asking the Governor to stop last-minute backroom deals.
