We all want to end drunk driving, but Section 24220 of the Infrastructure Act is a civil rights and constitutional issue. The law mandates "advanced impaired driving technology" in all new cars.

Aside from violating our rights and privacy, Medical conditions that do not impair driving safety raises a huge concern. Current AI sensors cannot distinguish between alcohol impairment and common medical conditions like Diabetes, ADHD, MS, Parkinson’s, or more. This could affect over 100 million American's with medical conditions that do not cause impairments. This doesn't read as a safety feature to me, it reads as a mandatory "Kill Switch" on ALL NEW VEHICLES!

This law forces 24/7 biometric surveillance (eye tracking, skin sensors, breath monitoring) without a warrant or individualized suspicion. It turns your private vehicle into a government monitoring station. This is a violation of the 4th amendment, the 5th amendment, and the 14th amendment. With this system there is No "Due Process". If your car misinterprets a medical symptom as intoxication, there is no manual override, no human review, and no immediate appeal anywhere in Section 24220.

By supporting this campaign please demand that Congress and state representative cosponsor H.R. 1137 (the No Kill Switches in Cars Act) to repeal this mandate. We do not need algorithms that discriminate against the medically vulnerable and every day American citizens.
