URGENT: Farmworkers Need Your Support
Farmworkers need our support. Our Campesino communities have been enduring the brunt of the pandemic. Farmworkers were forced to carry the weight of feeding an entire nation under unsuitable working conditions, often without health coverage or much support from safety net programs, all the while enduring extreme heat, poor air quality from local fires and battling to stay safe from COVID-19. Because the state failed to provide adequate support, community-based organizations (CBO) stepped in to aid farmworkers.
We have drafted a letter to send to Governor Gavin Newsom and your local state legislator. The letter serves as a reminder to legislators of the 12 demands that emerged from California COVID-19 Farmworker Study.
