Urgent: Indianapolis Schools at Risk – Take Action Now!

Friends,

While our public schools continue to face attacks within the state legislature, members of our City-County Council have decided to join in on the squeeze. There has been a proposal written by members of the education committee to create Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) for Indianapolis students. This proposal would not only create a local special fund to capture money from private developers seeking public funding, but it would put Rise Indy, an anti-public PAC, in charge of the funds.

ESAs have a long history of diverting public funds to non-public institutions and being misused. They also lack public accountability. If passed, especially ahead of the state budget, these bills will be harmful to the stability of all of our schools and teachers, but especially public schools.

The good news? These proposals can be defeated with your help! Fill out this letter to your city-county councilors today, demanding that they vote NO on the upcoming proposal for Education Savings Accounts in Indianapolis.

What else can you do?

📢 Follow up your letter with a call to your specific city-county councilor.

📢 Share this campaign with your friends, family, and neighbors.

📢 Attend the upcoming March 4th education committee meeting to make your voice heard. We will send out an action at the end of the week with more information!

Our schools, teachers, and students deserve stability and support. Join us in protecting the future of Indianapolis education!
