URGENT! Tell the DNC: Don't Ban Ranked Choice Voting

This Saturday, August 15, the DNC's Rules & Bylaws Committee is set to vote on a rule that would ban ranked choice voting in the 2028 presidential primary — even in Maine and Washington, D.C., where voters already made RCV the law. The party would print ranked ballots but simply refuse to count how people ranked them.

We've seen what happens with and without RCV. In New York City's 2025 mayoral primary, ranked choice voting let progressive candidates build coalitions instead of fighting over the same voters — and delivered a true majority winner. In Los Angeles's 2026 mayoral race, without RCV, two progressive candidates split the same base in a crowded field, nearly handing the runoff to someone else entirely.

The DNC is about to make sure every future presidential primary runs like LA, not NYC.

Send a letter to DNC Chair Ken Martin and your state party chair urging them to reject the ban before Saturday's vote.
