Billionaires don’t want us to have a voice at the ballot box.

The Trump administration is trying to redefine “eligible voters” and despite what they say, it has nothing to do with immigration or even party affiliation. The attacks on democracy are coming from the top down, all aimed at silencing working people and ensuring that billionaires have complete control of the country.

Their latest attack is on voting by mail and here’s how it works: It requires the USPS to verify lists of voters based in part on Department of Homeland Security created citizenship databases that have repeatedly been shown to be inaccurate and flawed.

Adding this new federal layer of voter verification is not authorized by Congress or state laws and would create new risks of delay, confusion, data errors, and disenfranchisement for legal voters -- U.S. Citizens who rely on the mail to access their right to vote.

It’s pretty simple really: If voters aren’t on the list, they will not receive a ballot.

The proposal is centered around the myth that massive numbers of non-citizens are voting. The impact would be to disenfranchise millions of voters and block their legal votes nationwide, which is exactly the point. That’s why right-wing billionaires fund a huge network of non-profits pushing for legislation and fueling conspiracy theories across social media.

It’s class warfare disguised as protecting the vote.
