Use this form to urge Senate Democrats and your own elected Senator to VOTE NO on the floor tomorrow for Rep. Erin Grall’s amendments to SB 837 (tort reform bill) that would allow for a “parent” of an “unborn fetus” to bring damages against a third party for the “negligent death” of an unborn fetus. In this post-Roe world, we are very worried that this is a sneaky attempt to allow civil lawsuits against abortion providers or against Floridians who are using SMA to terminate a pregnancy. We must strongly OPPOSE any amendments that would create fetal personhood, resulting in situations like we are seeing in Texas where Three Texas women are sued for wrongful death after allegedly helping friend obtain abortion medication.
