Warwick Students Support Trans* Rights

The EHRC guidance, laid in Parliament on the 21st of May, is currently in its 40-day parliamentary review period, after which it will become law. The Code of Practice will ban trans* people from single-sex spaces and services. This is practically unworkable, regressive and dangerous, and will impact trans students access to public spaces, both on and off campus.

All students including non-binary and trans students, and those that are gender non-conforming, deserve to feel safe and included in our University community, and beyond.

Follow the steps to automatically email local Warwick MPs with your concerns and call on them to:

  • Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate and a free vote on the Code.

  • Support Nadia Whittome's Early Day Motion tabled in Parliament objecting to it.

  • Write to the Minister for Women and Equalities and the Prime Minister.
