We need the Mobile Home Affordability Act. It helps every Manufactured Housing Homeowner in California
As you know, manufactured housing homeowners are property owners whose equity depends on regulated land tenancy.
Renters of apartments, condos and traditional homes already have rent protection, but its rate is too high for MHCs who also pay a mortgage, utilities, home insurance, property taxes, upkeep and maintenance. While other renters can move if their rent increases are too high, MHC homeowners cannot. Our homes are not mobile, costing tens of thousands of dollars to move. MHC homeowners are vulnerable to high rent increases, causing us to eventually walk away from our investment and equity.
Should we really want be treating veterans, seniors on fixed incomes, people with disabilities and families of all income levels with this unfair treatment?
By completing this letter process, you are adding your voice to let legislators know how much we need limits on rent increases and to educate them.
