Where Are the Dogs? Demand Transparency Over Antigua's Street Dog Removals
Between 26 October and 6 November 2026, Antigua & Barbuda's Veterinary Authority is carrying out a street animal removal operation in St John's ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and the forthcoming visit of His Majesty King Charles III.
The Veterinary Authority has assured the public that this is not a mass euthanasia exercise and that the animals will be treated humanely.
But fundamental questions remain unanswered.
How many dogs have been collected? Where are they being held? Who is caring for them? And what will happen to them when the international visitors have gone?
Dog Desk Animal Action CIC has written to the responsible authorities seeking clarification. We are now asking the public to add their voices to our call for transparency.
Every dog removed from the streets must have a recorded destination and a traceable outcome.
Please complete the form and send your letter to the authorities.
