After months of controversy over unfair anti-solar policies put in place by the Pedernales Electric Co-op, the board voted to mostly reverse those policies in July. Staff agreed to conduct a value of solar study to evaluate the costs and benefits of solar systems at homes and businesses. This study will inform future solar policy changes at the co-op.

We hope this will be a fair study that reveals the true value of solar, but the only way we can be sure is to see the study. PEC members should have a chance to review it before any policy proposals are created based on it.

Email the PEC board to ask for an open comment period on the draft report before it’s finalized.
