Workers at the UFCW deserve better
The UFCW Guild needs your support.
In the words of UFCW International President Marc Perrone, “a better life begins with a better job.” We absolutely agree – and the UFCW needs to practice what they preach. Despite the Guild’s attempts to bargain in good faith to reach a new contract, Guild-covered employees at the UFCW have been working under an expired contract for over 4 months now.
The UFCW has exposed its hypocrisy by ignoring the problems at home: the unlivably-low pay, the minimal access to remote work, the inadequate sick leave and exploitative use of the probationary period. During bargaining, the UFCW typically comes unprepared without counter proposals or completed information requests. They often fail to seriously consider our proposals to improve recruitment and retention, benefitting the lives of UFCW members. Now, nearly seven months into bargaining, Guild members are on strike in response to Unfair Labor Practice charges filed against the UFCW.
We need the UFCW to be a better place to work both for the workers at the UFCW and for the members and locals they work to support. We all deserve better. Use your voice to send a letter to UFCW management saying just that: UFCW Workers Deserve Better.
