Write to Congress: Fund Bread, Not Bombs

Fund Bread, Not Bombs - Cosponsor the Block the Bombs Act

Updated 11.22.2025

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen how ugly it can get when food stamps are cut as the Trump Administration plays politics with people’s lives. But the biggest cut in the program’s history is still to come. Millions of people will lose food assistance benefits through SNAP permanently in the next few weeks because of Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, while millions more will lose access to healthcare in the coming years.

Nearly 50 million people across the U.S. are food insecure and rely on programs like SNAP. More than 4 million people will lose healthcare coverage by the end of this year due to ACA Marketplace cuts, and another 10 million by 2034.

The Trump administration is messing with the programs so many of us depend on to keep our families fed, and playing politics with people’s lives—all while adding billions to our already massive military budget, using our tax dollars to fund genocide abroad and militarization at home.

Since the beginning of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza in October 2023, the U.S. has given more than $30 billion in taxpayer-funded weapons to Israel to enable its atrocities. We know they have money to feed our people, but they would rather spend it on deportations and bombs.

On June 5, Representatives Delia Ramirez, Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, and Mark Pocan, along with 18 colleagues, publicly announced the introduction of a historic bill in Congress to proactively block the Trump administration from delivering more weapons to Israel for its genocide and starvation campaign in Gaza.

We don’t want our tax dollars going to genocide and military occupation. We demand that our money and resources be used to feed our families, care for the sick, and get people off the streets!

Write your Representative and ask them to cosponsor H.R.3565, the Block the Bombs Act. It’s time to stop backing war and genocide and start prioritizing our communities’ needs.
