Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest hospital system, is planning to launch a start-up accelerator in Boston, slated to open March 2026. Sheba’s ARC Accelerator aims to turn Massachusetts into a “soft landing pad” for artificial intelligence (AI)-focused Israeli and international healthcare startups to enter the U.S. market. The Sheba CEO boasts that their Massachusetts initiative will further their mission “to show the beautiful face of Israel” and provide economic growth for the State of Israel.

Governor Healey’s administration is welcoming Sheba’s ARC Accelerator with open arms, investing significant effort into promoting Sheba at public events, securing high-value office space in Boston, and praising the strong relationship between MA and Israel. They have even "committed" to providing tax incentives up to $5 million for Sheba-affiliated companies. Sheba is trying to partner with Massachusetts hospital systems to trial new AI technologies sold by Israeli and other international start-ups.

Sheba Medical Center has deep financial and institutional ties to the Israeli military. Governor Healey’s financial and logistical support for Sheba comes out of our tax dollars and not only implicates Massachusetts in Israel’s economy of genocide, but further enables it.

At a time when Israel is killing, detaining, and torturing Palestinian healthcare workers, bombing hospitals that shelter Palestinian families, and withholding aid to Gaza while keeping millions trapped in famine, Governor Healey's investment is deeply disturbing and sends a chilling message about the values that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts chooses to uphold. In September 2025, we delivered a public letter to Governor Healey signed by more than 3,000 state residents opposing Sheba's entry into Massachusetts. Her administration had no response.
