Yes on HB 220
Alaska is one of the only states without a defined benefit retirement system. This leaves our dedicated public employees without the proper retirement security they deserve. We need your help to fix that!
HB 220 is a bill that would restore a defined benefit pension option for Alaska public employees. Since 2006 public employees including city and borough employees, teachers, school support staff, and state workers have not been able to count on a fair retirement. As a result, Alaska is struggling to retain public employees -- many of whom have decided they can’t afford to stay in public service in the state.
HB 220 is headed to the House Floor. Join us in calling on the legislature to support bringing back retirement security by writing an email today!
