Tell the Austin City Council to Add Clean Energy, Not Dirty Energy

Austin City Council

Over a year into Austin Energy's Resource Plan update, it's still not determined if the utility will continue on a path to achieve 100% carbon-free and clean energy or if it will build another gas-burning power plant. It's going to come down to what the Austin City Council will vote for. And they'll vote for clean energy if enough Austinites demand it. We'll present this petition as one piece of evidence that our community is ready for clean energy and isn't interested in regressing on our climate goals.

Please sign the petition in support of a clean energy plan for Austin Energy.

The Climate Crisis is here, overheating the planet and causing extreme weather, untold harms to people, loss of life, and record-high utility bills. I urge the Austin City Council to direct Austin Energy to abandon any plans for polluting power plants that would burn natural gas or hydrogen and replace AE’s dirty coal and gas plants with solar and wind, batteries, and energy savings programs. Our children’s futures are in our hands.
