We, the undersigned, add our voices to the 500 Voices for Armelle campaign and stand with Armelle Bondonga and her family. We ask our city, state, and national leaders to join us.

Armelle is a Louisville wife, mother, youth leader, mentor, and community advocate. She has invested countless hours in our young people and helped create opportunities for their voices to be heard.

Armelle was detained by ICE at a scheduled interview for her green card. She is now separated from her husband and young son, both American citizens, and from the community she has faithfully served.

We respectfully ask Mayor Greenberg, Kentucky’s Congressional Delegation, and other elected officials who may be able to help to:

• Add your names to the 500 Voices for Armelle campaign.
• Issue public statements supporting Armelle and her family.
• Use the tools available to your offices to advocate for her release and the prompt, fair consideration of her green card application.
• Share her story and continue advocating until she is safely reunited with her family.

We recognize that your offices have different responsibilities and authority. We ask each of you to take the steps available to you and use your public voice to support Armelle and her family.

Armelle has shown up for our community. Now we are showing up for her.

We sign this letter because we believe Armelle should be home with her family. We ask our leaders to do everything within their authority to help bring her home.
