Stop U.S. Tax Dollars from Funding Big Oil in Venezuela
President Trump and US Congress
After this weekend’s illegal invasion of Venezuela, the Trump Administration is now proposing a reckless giveaway to Big Oil — one that could cost the public over $100 billion and lock in years of new oil drilling in Venezuela.
That money would come from U.S. taxpayers.
Instead of investing in clean energy here at home — lowering energy bills, creating jobs, and protecting our climate — our public funds could be used to underwrite fossil fuel companies as they drill more oil abroad, pollute our shared atmosphere, and pad their own profits.
We need to stop this corrupt giveaway in its tracks.

We, the undersigned, call on U.S. policymakers to reject any plan that uses American tax dollars to subsidize oil drilling in Venezuela.
Up to $100 billion in public funds could be used to enrich Big Oil companies, expand fossil fuel production, and worsen the climate crisis — all while families at home struggle with high energy costs.
Public money should serve the public good. It should be invested in clean energy here in the United States, lowering prices for consumers, creating good jobs, and protecting our climate — not padding the profits of oil corporations.
No U.S. tax dollars for Big Oil’s Venezuela oil grab.
Invest in clean energy, not more pollution.
