Union Members Against ICE

Union Members and Supporters

We are union members fighting back against Trump’s attacks on our immigrant brothers and sisters. Our unions need to lead the way as we face down this billionaire bigot administration and we’re calling on our union leaders to step up in the fight against Trump’s mass deportation machine and his authoritarian power grab.

When NYC taxi drivers struck in 2017, Trump’s “Muslim Ban” was defeated. When TSA agents stayed home and Sara Nelson so much as threatened a general strike in 2019, Trump was forced to end the longest government shutdown in US history. Workers and unions have power—now’s the time to use it.

We need to talk to our coworkers about why attacks on immigrant workers make our unions weaker, and form deportation defense committees in every workplace and community to keep ICE out. We need to say loud and clear: stop the raids, stop invading our workplaces and cities, fund healthcare not ICE, and get the National Guard off our streets!

We're Calling For:

  • NO COOPERATION WITH ICE! Keep our workplaces ICE-free, and refuse union labor that contributes to or accommodates ICE activity. All union locals should hold general membership meetings to develop and train members in non-cooperation with ICE. Make non-cooperation part of every contract campaign—and if the boss doesn't enforce it, workers will.

  • CONFERENCES OF RESISTANCE! We need to build coalitions of unions, immigrant rights, student, and community organizations and organize mass, democratic conferences of resistance (with union-organized anti-ICE security) in every city, to plan out next steps in the fight against Trump and ICE.

  • PREPARE FOR A ONE-DAY STRIKE! The Democrats and the courts won’t save us. Anti-Trump and anti-ICE protests are important, but demonstrations alone won’t stop Trump. The whole labor movement must come together and use our most powerful weapon, the strike. This can start with rolling sickouts, building up toward a nationally coordinated one-day strike against Trump and ICE.
