A Pledge for Utah's Health: Protecting Medicaid

We, the undersigned, stand in support of a strong and healthy Medicaid as Medicaid is critical to the foundation of a healthy and strong Utah.

We recognize the vital role that access to affordable healthcare provides to the overall well-being and safety of our families and communities. Utah’s Medicaid program is fiscally sound and has been improved upon by both Republican and Democratic state legislators and expanded upon by voters.

We acknowledge that Medicaid provides financial security for working families, peace of mind for those who are navigating the uncertainty of chronic disease, and independence for seniors and people with disabilities. Without Medicaid, behavioral and mental healthcare would remain inaccessible to tens of thousands of Utahns.

Therefore, we pledge to PROTECT Medicaid. We will raise our collective voice to advocate for policies that protect and strengthen Medicaid, not defund it or add unnecessary administrative bureaucracy which will harm people with disabilities and chronic disease, children, and families.

We commit to uphold the principle that healthcare access should not be compromised. We stand united with fellow Utahns in defending our Medicaid program.

I believe that access to affordable healthcare is essential for the well-being of every Utahn, strengthening our families, communities, and economy.

I recognize that Utah's Medicaid program provides vital health coverage to hundreds of thousands of our neighbors – children, pregnant women, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income adults – ensuring they can receive necessary medical care, manage chronic conditions, and lead healthier lives.

Therefore, I pledge:

To stand in support of a strong and comprehensive Medicaid program in Utah.

To oppose cuts to Medicaid funding, eligibility, or benefits that would harm vulnerable Utahns and jeopardize their access to care.

To advocate for policies that protect and strengthen Medicaid, ensuring its stability and effectiveness for current and future beneficiaries.

To raise my voice and encourage our elected officials to prioritize the health of all Utahns by safeguarding this critical program.

I commit to upholding the principle that healthcare access should not be compromised, and I stand united with fellow Utahns in defending our Medicaid program.
