We, the undersigned, stand in support of a strong and healthy Medicaid as Medicaid is critical to the foundation of a healthy and strong Utah.
We recognize the vital role that access to affordable healthcare provides to the overall well-being and safety of our families and communities. Utah’s Medicaid program is fiscally sound and has been improved upon by both Republican and Democratic state legislators and expanded upon by voters.
We acknowledge that Medicaid provides financial security for working families, peace of mind for those who are navigating the uncertainty of chronic disease, and independence for seniors and people with disabilities. Without Medicaid, behavioral and mental healthcare would remain inaccessible to tens of thousands of Utahns.
Therefore, we pledge to PROTECT Medicaid. We will raise our collective voice to advocate for policies that protect and strengthen Medicaid, not defund it or add unnecessary administrative bureaucracy which will harm people with disabilities and chronic disease, children, and families.
