During a recent press conference, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar played a voicemail she had just received in which a man called her the most vile, racist, and Islamophobic slurs imaginable before threatening to kill her. Rep. Omar received this threat shortly after video surfaced of Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert referring to her as a member of the "jihad squad" and accusing Rep. Omar of being a potential suicide bomber.
And yet, after Rep. Omar made the potential for deadly violence in response to these statements clear, Boebert has refused to apologize (unsurprisingly, she has doubled-down on her statements), and the GOP leadership has refused to take any action.
Boebert's disgusting, hateful, and racist attacks on Omar and on the millions of other Muslims who practice Islam in America must not be tolerated.
