Add your name to tell Gary Herbert to debate Mike Weinholtz
Gary Herbert
A democracy can only be healthy if there is a free exchange of ideas. For too long, Governor Gary Herbert has relied on the status quo of a one-party system, but this year, Utahns are demanding something different.
In spite of having been invited to FIVE official debates, Governor Herbert has only agreed to debate his Democratic challenger Mike Weinholtz ONCE. (So much for being "Available" Jones. Perhaps if the debate sponsors had made campaign contributions?)
This is unacceptable. In an election year that has been anything but ordinary, we remind the governor that Utahns should decide this race, NOT party bosses.
Sign the petition today to let Governor Herbert know you want him to be held accountable for his record by defending his positions in a debate with Mike Weinholtz.

Dear Governor Herbert,
In politics, you should be held to your record, so why are you unwilling to defend yours? You have been invited to multiple debates with Mike Weinholtz, but you have only accepted one. Why?
Utahns want to hear both candidates exchange ideas in a moderated debate context. It's healthy for our politicians to hear each other and to exchange ideas in a civilized manner. Why have you declined to debate Mike Weinholtz more than once?
Campaigns should not be won and lost by the party bosses; the people should decide. You've made yourself available to campaign donors; how about being available to your constituents by participating in another debate?
Sincerely,
