Amy Klobuchar: Hold a Town Hall!

Senator Amy Klobuchar

Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota Wants to Meet You at the Capital!

Senator Amy Klobuchar is returning home from Washington during the recess between April 10-21, 2017. As her friends, neighbors and constituents, we want to meet with Senator Klobuchar to thank her for her service and to help us better understand her positions on major issues facing our state and nation. We are asking her to hold a public town hall meeting.

Town hall meetings are important for democracy. They allow for direct communication between elected officials and the people they work for -- us. A town hall meeting gives all constituents the opportunity to communicate directly with our representatives; this also gives us a chance to voice our own concerns and make an impact in our communities.

As of 04/01, there are no public town hall meetings currently on Senator Klobuchar’s schedule.

If you would like Senator Klobuchar to hold a town hall in Minnesota during the recess, please sign this petition asking her to meet us at the capital and hold a public town hall in St. Paul during the recess period.

Sign and share to show Senator Klobuchar that this is what her neighbors and constituents want!

Also, call (202-224-3244), tweet, and e-mail her directly.

Dear Senator Klobuchar,

Minnesota is grateful to you for your service to our state and its citizens; we are proud of the way you have stood up for justice for immigrants, the health of our environment, and for accessible and affordable health care coverage for thousands of Minnesotans. But we still have some questions and important conversations are always better in person.

So we would like to talk to you directly, to tell you more about the things we all care about, and to learn more about what you plan to do about the many issues facing our state and nation.

There are many things for us to talk about: the economy, wages, jobs, Trump's ties to Russia, tax reform, infrastructure spending, immigration and refugee resettlement, internet privacy, and access to affordable health care. As you well know, these are only a few of the issues that thousands of Minnesotans face every day, and we want talk to you about how we can work on them together.

Over the last several weeks, thousands of us have been calling you, sending letters, faxes, and e-mails, and showing up in person to district offices all over Minnesota -- but it is always easier to talk in person. So let's meet at the capital!

During the upcoming recess, we ask for you to hold a public town hall in St. Paul so that thousands of your friends and neighbors can join you in an open community discussion about the direction of Minnesota and our nation at this critical time.

We ask that you respond by April 14 so that thousands of us can make plans to be there in person. Thank you very much.

Your friends, neighbors, and constituents,

Minnesota
