ANA: Fair Contract Now!

Angela Beddoe, CEO of the American Nurses Association

The ANA Guild’s ask is simple: stop bullying, start bargaining.

Almost 90% of union members voted ‘No’ to the American Nurses Association's (ANA) wage proposal that would do away with guaranteed raises in the third year. We have proposals and are ready to meet, yet ANA has declared an impasse – walking away from negotiations and imposing their own unpopular plan. It’s time for ANA to return to the bargaining table. An impasse only prolongs conflict and denies workers the dignity and voice they deserve.

This is all while ANA refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing and continues to empower a manager that ANA Guild members have filed a grievance against for months of bullying and disrespectful behavior. We cannot trust a merit system if that is how manager wrongdoing is approached at ANA. Staff deserve respect and to feel safe and supported at work.

We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with the workers of the American Nurses Association (ANA).

We call on ANA to end the impasse and come back to the bargaining table. Almost 90% of union members who voted said ‘No’ to ANA’s proposal. Imposing an unpopular proposal and stepping away from negotiations denies your workers respect and their voice in the process.

Continued negotiations, guided by good-faith efforts, are the only path toward a fair contract that supports both the success of the organization and the well-being of its employees.
