Arizona Corporation Commission: Mandate Renewable Energy!
Arizona Corporation Commissioners
Arizona is about to make some major decisions about how we use power. The Arizona Corporation Commission is the governmental body that oversees our utilities, like Arizona Public Service (APS) and Tucson Electric Power (TEP). Both utilities are deciding how much renewable energy they should include in their future plans.
Our allies at Chispa AZ are pushing for a plan that would require at least 50% of the power we use come from renewable sources by 2030.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report is very clear: we need to reach zero emissions globally by 2050 if we are going to avoid the worst effects of the climate disaster. We have to act now to make that deadline.
This isn't just about climate change. Across Arizona impacted communities suffer from poor air quality that causes health effects like asthma. Curbing pollution will bring relief to families that have had to bear the burden of our consumption.
With 350 days a year of sun, Arizona can make the switch away from fossil fuels.
Help Chispa and Sunrise Phoenix by telling the Arizona Corporation Commission: mandate 50% renewable energy by 2035.

We are Arizona community members that are concerned about our utility bills and the source of our energy.
As Commissioners, you are elected to protect the interests of people like us, consumers. In addition, you govern utility companies to act in the public interest.
We ask that you support a renewable and clean energy standard for utilities.
The current renewable energy standard was set more than thirteen years ago. It is time to update this goal, to protect Arizona, our health and our environment. A failure to pass a new renewable energy standard would allow utilities to ignore our needs and prioritize short-term profits over a healthy and prosperous future.
We ask you to support a renewable energy standard. We ask that the renewable energy standard be at least 50% by 2030.
We are Arizonans that want and deserve clean, renewable and affordable energy. We believe and know that renewable energy is good for Arizona, good for our environment, and good for our economy.
Thank you.
